siteGround works well with Desktop Media Uploader without any special changes.

In upload speed testing, Desktop Media Uploader was about 2.5 times faster than the standard WordPress Media Library uploader. The larger benefit was reduced CPU resource usage.

Uploading the 221 test images with all WordPress media sizes took about 51 "CPU seconds" and 27 "Program Executions" with Desktop Media Uploader.

The same upload using the WordPress Media Library took about 1,048 "CPU seconds" and 484 "Program Executions".

Because SiteGround hosting plans include CPU resource limits, these savings may be helpful for sites that are running into CPU usage limits during large media uploads.
